Trey Gowdy Teaches The Left A Very Important Lesson On The Constitution

During a House Oversight Committee hearing, South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy taught the people attended the hearing a valuable lesson about the Second Amendment, reports Conservative Politicus.

During his interrogation of Homeland Security Secretary Kelli Ann Burriesci, the South Carolina Representative slammed the department for forbidding U.S. citizens to carry weapons for self-defense if they have been put on the terrorist watch list.

“My question is, can you name another constitutional right we have that is chilled until you find out it’s chilled, and then you have to petition the government to get it back? Is that true with the First Amendment?” said Gowdy during the hearing.

It all began when Gowdy inquiries about the process the DHS goes through to put an American citizen on the list:

“What process is afforded a U.S. citizen, not someone who’s overstayed a visa, not someone who crossed a border without permission, but an American citizen—what process is currently afforded an American citizen before they go on that list?”

The stunned Burriesci appeared unable to give a solid reply. “I’m sorry, um, there’s not a process afforded the citizen prior to getting on the list,” she said. “There is a process should someone feel they’re unduly placed on the list.”

Gowdy went on to say, “Yes there is. When I say ‘process’ I’m actually using half of the term ‘due process,’ which is a phrase we find in the Constitution, that you cannot deprive people of certain things without due process.”

“So I understand [Center for American Progress fellow Ken Gude]’s idea, which is to wait until your right has been taken from you and then you can petition the government to get it back. I understand that that’s his idea,” said Gowdy.

Gowdy then asked Burriesci to think of  “another constitutional right we have that is chilled until you find out it’s chilled, and then you have to petition the government to get it back? Is that true with the First Amendment?”

Rep. Trey Gowdy has become a ferocious conservative fighter in our country and we are starting to get why he is so determined to do this.

Leftists in the U.S. have become so vile and dangerous against everything and everyone conservative. It has reached the point where sometimes even the Constitution cannot prevent these liberal nut-heads from doing something stupid which could easily lead to tragedy.
