Vice President Mike Pence and his wife recently made headlines when they walked off a game following multiple players kneeling during the national anthem.

Pence said in a statement on Twitter:
I left today’s Colts game because POTUS and I will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem.
Pence received the support president Trump for the action:

Many in the media referred to the move as a “political stunt” and the expense of the trip was brought into question. According to some reports, the trip cost over $200,000. The vice president’s office responded, saying that a stop in Indianapolis was on the path back to D.C. from Las Vegas, where the vice president spent the weekend.
At the White House press briefing on Tuesday, Sarah Sanders was asked about the expense of the trip and if it was an “appropriate” move. She responded, saying all “leaders” in America should stand for the anthem.
“Is it appropriate for the vice president of the United States to spend taxpayer money to go to a football game where he’s going to walk out if players take a knee, knowing he would be taking that action?”
“I think it’s appropriate. The vice president was invited. He attended that game. I think it’s always appropriate for the leaders of our country to stand up for the national anthem, to stand up for our flag, and to stand up for the men and women who fought and died for it.”
Obviously it’s become pretty normal nowadays to disrespect our country, our commander in chief, and our flag and anthem. According to this reporter it was Vice President Pence’s behavior that was inappropriate. That’s the liberals for you.
