Bill O’Reilly commented on the tragic mass murder that had played out the previous evening in Las Vegas, where crazed shooter Stephen Paddock killed 58 people, and wounded more than 515, at a music concert on the ground below his window on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. And also commented on the gun-control narrative of the Democrats.
Former Fox News superstar, Bill O’Reilly, has published a column on his website about the horrible massacre in Las Vegas in which 59 have been killed and over 500 wounded.
O’Reilly has noted something that all other commentators have not: tragedies like this are, unfortunately, the price of freedom. We could sacrifice our freedoms for more security in the belief that we would get the latter, but as Benjamin Franklin noted, we would be robbed of both.
O’Reilly wrote that “having covered scores of gun-related crimes over the years, I can tell you that government restrictions will not stop psychopaths from harming people.
“They will find a way.
“Public safety demands logical gun laws but the issue is so polarizing and emotional that little will be accomplished as there is no common ground.”Evil will always find a way.
Those calling for stricter gun control are ignorant of the fact that places like Chicago, with draconian anti-gun codes, are racked by unparalleled gun violence on a daily basis.
O’Reilly is right in that men with bad motives will always find a way to do harm if motivated enough. The only saving grace is for law-abiding citizens to have the right to protect themselves as the Second Amendment allows.
