The couple had not picked out a name for the baby in the spring when they first made Lara Trump’s pregnancy public, lamenting that one of their favorite names had already been used.
“We really loved the name Charlie, but we’d already named our dog that, so it’s out,” Eric, 33, told People Magazine, while Lara, 34, added: “We sort of screwed ourselves over there.”
At the time, Lara Trump told the the magazine she always knew that she wanted to have children someday.
“We found out on my birthday, which was pretty cool,” Eric added.
The two married in November 2014 at the Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, after dating for six years.
At the time of their marriage, Lara Trump worked as an associate producer on the CBS television show Inside Edition.
Lara Trump said when they told President Trump about the news of his ninth grandchild, he was so excited that “we were worried he’d blurt it out at a press conference.”
President Trump’s oldest son, Donald Jr., has five children with his wife Vanessa, while his daughter Ivanka has three with her husband Jared Kushner.
Lara Trump told People she and her husband have had plenty of babysitting practice between their various nieces and nephews.
“Eric’s going to be an amazing dad,” Lara said. “The nieces and nephews love hanging with him. He’s the cool uncle. He’s watched Frozen many times.”
‘Welcome to the world, baby boy. I can’t wait to meet you,’ Ivanka wrote, while his older brother shared a more humorous sentiment.
‘Congrats buddy. Welcome to the club. Now that the niceties are out of the way it’s older brother revenge for that drum set to my kids,’ Don Jr. tweeted.
