A North Georgia high school decided to run out onto the field Friday night carrying American Flags as a patriotic message to start the game.
The Fannin County High School Rebels ran out together holding dozens of large American Flags as they entered the field for their game against Greater Atlanta Christian School.

Supt. Michael Gwatney told WSB-TV the flags were meant to show support for veterans and active duty military personnel.
“It was an awesome and unifying moment for the audiences on both sides of our stadium and reminded us that no matter what team we support, we are all Americans,” he told the television station.
Gwatney said that while Fannin County may have lost the game, “our players certainly won the hearts of our community with the display of patriotism.”
